With the new 10-in-10 series, we look to host ten (10) -- 30-minute live sessions (once per week) to discuss the application process for the top-10 MBA programs.
The 8th episode will focus on the Columbia Business School’s (CBS’) MBA application. CBS approaches business training from an entrepreneurial lens, where students are taught how to identify and seize opportunities irrespective of industry. With that in mind, applicants need a nuanced approach to the application that speaks to strong leadership and self-discipline characteristic of an entrepreneur. CBS also has rolling admission, meaning you are considered on a first-come-first-serve basis, requiring mindfulness around when you submit.
In this webinar, Susan will help you navigate the application and answer any question that will help you craft a compelling narrative considering what CBS looks for. The discussion can cover different elements of the application, including the essays:
Essay 1: Through your resume and recommendation, we have a clear sense of your professional path to date. What are your career goals over the next three to five years and what is your long-term dream job? (500 words)
Essay 2: Why do you feel Columbia Business School is a good fit for you academically, culturally, and professionally? (300 words)
Essay 3: Tell us about your favorite book, movie, or song and why it resonates with you. (250 words)
Please join us for a quick 30-minute discussion on the CBS application, and bring as many questions as you have to the discussion (or just come and learn from others’ questions).
